Dinners this weekend...

Hey brothers and sisters!

I want to remind everyone about the dinners this weekend, starting at Dayton Vineyard TONIGHT. If you are going, awesome- I would like to be there myself and am praying for those involved, that many would be touched through pizza and seeing some more aspects of Pleasant Vineyard (and seeing dear friends).

Let me know how it goes, okay, guys? It starts in one hour!

Ready, set, pray!

:-)

Sarah, thank you for your prayers. Last night's banquet was great. It's always fun trying to get the kids minds to shift off of their worldly perspective and back to the camp one (which is hopefully closer to the way God intends us to think and act). It was a small night, but a good first night - one down - two to go. Amber came up with this game that involves holding balloons up with your groups heads while trying to get different candy back to your base. Quite fun and difficult. Well, Amber, Tim, Kelli, and myself are preparing the area for the new bouldering cave. Then it's off to Cinnci. See ya.

The Cincinnati banquet tonight was awesome! Over 100 people came to celebrate what God's doing at PVM and hang out a little.

Thanks to Julie, Matt, Kourtney, Amber, Bethany, Wyatt, Suzanne, Katie, Tim, and Kelli (and probably someone I'm forgetting) for coming out to help out and chill with the Cincy campers. You guys rock!

The highlight of the night? I'd say that it was Wyatt in his knickers. He was stylin'.

I took a nap tonight. And now it's back to more Greek drama...

I think it's amber's turn for the update tomorrow night ;-)

i think i'm ready to go off the papa john's diet for a while. well... maybe after the 5 sitting in the staff lounge fridge are gone.

night 3 (columbus) was great. thanks to joey for introducing me to the entire grove city youth group!! oh, and kerrie and gabby have convinced me that the theme for next summer should really be school camp. yea, have a spelling test break out, advanced calculus camp, be sure to pack your number 2 pencils!

it was very refreshing to talk and play with campers again. i hear from campers and counselors all the time "i miss camp!"... well, i like living here pretty well, but i miss campers! it was fun watching the gymnasiums of 2 churches and a middle school get transformed into extensions of camp where all pvm rules (including "hush sweet!") apply.

thanks to all the campers and counselors who were interviewed/ gave testimonies for the video. i cannot be reminded often enough that this is God's place, His work, and we are all His souls that He is at work on here. thank you for being changed and thank you for telling us about it.

"I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips, as you know, O Lord.
I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly."
Psalm 40:9-10

The banquets were incredible!!! I had so much fun. I am so glad I got to be a part of it. I have to say...being around the campers is like a breath of fresh air. It really helped me deal with things.

There were also some future campers to look forward to, Andrew, Kaitlyn, and Katherine. of course they were only three year olds so they have some time...but they were fantastic! It was an equestrian of a good time. Ok I'm going now.

Hey J ... it was great to see you too! We're expecting you back this summer, of course, even though you didn't win the free week of camp (go Claire!). Any idea which camp you're gonna do in 2005?

a glimpse into the adult room:

While the kids were off playing games with some of last summer’s counselors, family members were given a glimpse into the hearts of several staff and campers from this summer in a video. This video featured testimonies of moved hearts, changed lives, and young people beginning or continuing to build on a firm foundation.

“One thing I liked about Pleasant Vineyard is that I can meet new friends and I can teach my other friends about God who don’t know.” (camper)

“The one thing I learned about God at Pleasant Vineyard is that He loves me not matter what.” (camper)

“What I enjoyed most about working at Pleasant Vineyard is the ministry with the kids; being able to share Christ more and watch the kids grow in their walk with Christ.” (counselor)

“I keep coming back to Pleasant Vineyard every year because it’s so much fun. They help you grow spiritually and the counselors help you with any problems you may have, whether spiritual or family or anything else.” (camper)

“Being here the last 6 years has definitely changed my life forever. I’ll be back and God is definitely moving out here. It’s something that I can’t deny. God is changing hearts and lives.” (counselor)

“God is amazing… for all the things He’s done this summer with my life, and other things, with people, the staff, each and every kid that was in my teepee, bunkhouse, they were amazing. I see God in every one of them. And that’s what really touched me. The kids kept me going. God kept me going. This summer has been amazing… one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. And for all that’s listening, thank you. Each and every one of you are awesome.” (counselor)
