For a lot of us, at some point in our lives we feel like we are not connected to God the way we should be. Sometimes our relationship with God can feel like a WIRELESS connection—it’s there, you can connect to it, you can’t see it, but it’s always available. It’s time to discover what it really means to GET CONNECTED. At PVM we know the endless possibilities we have when we are CONNECTED with God. Come and GET CONNECTED with us this year.
This summer is going to be the best yet! Not only do we have two brand new programs (Mythbreakers and Scuba Camp) but also we are going to be playing a lot of new games, meeting new people and most importantly just having a ton of fun. So, come and join us for one of the best weeks you will ever experience.
Outreach
Urban Week
Designed to meet the needs of urban youth, this one-week program is tailored to equip and encourage urban youth to follow Christ and make positive choices that will impact their friends, families, and community and give them hope for their future. Due to the growth of our year-round outreach to urban youth, PVM has dedicated the last week of camp just for these youth who might not have a chance to experience a week of summer camp. Because most of these children come from financially challenged homes, PVM is in need of financial partners who would be willing to help support this program and make a difference in the lives of urban youth. If you are willing, or if you know of someone or a business that would be willing to help support this camp program, please contact Director Rob Lansdale at 937-452-3347.
New This Year
Mythbreakers
Let’s break some myths! Based on the popular TV show, Mythbusters, campers will participate in a series of experiments throughout the week to determine if the question at hand is either an urban myth or reality. So many possibilities!
Scuba Camp
Campers will learn from a professional diver how to scuba dive each day in the PVM pool. Campers will learn the basics and safety precautions of scuba diving using professional diving equipment. Campers will also learn snorkeling techniques and compete in diving challenges throughout the week.
Art Camp
Last year was the first year for Art camp and it was a huge success. This year we are expanding to reach out to our younger and older campers with separate weeks for each group. This program will help campers discover and develop their creative talents and skills in the area of drawing and painting. Each camper will get personalized instruction in composition, shading, perspective, color, and more. Please check our rates and schedule for more information.
Wilderness Camp
We’re heading back to the Gorge! After gearing up at Pleasant Vineyard with the climbing wall, zipline, and challenge course, then it’s time to hit the trail for a wilderness adventure along the rocky cliffs of Red River Gorge. Highlights include four days of overnight backpacking on the trail, sleeping in tents, and cooking over a campfire. Expect to learn trust, endurance, outdoor skills, spiritual lessons, and team cooperation on the trail, in the river, and around the campfire. No experience is necessary, but campers should be in good physical condition. Tents and backpacks will be provided. Space is limited, so register early.
