Pleasant Vineyard was the first camp in the US to offer paintball as a camp program. With over 20 years of paintball experience, PVM Camp decided to share its wealth of paintball knowledge and experience with other youth camps to help them avoid some of the pitfalls in starting a paintball program and how to make their program safe and effective. Since 2007, PVM Camp has offer a paintball symposium for camp and church leaders who want to utilize the sport as a mechanism to reach the hearts of both youth and adults. To date, the Christian Paintball Symposium has trained over 70 individuals and help to start over 50 paintball programs all across the US.
Seeds of Life
Over the years we have found that paintball can be utilized as a tool to reach the hearts of those that participate. In Matthew 13: 23 it says;
"But the one who receives the seed that fell on the good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown." NIV
Seeds that are planted in good soil will produce fruit. When kids go to camp there is an eager anticipation of having a great time and a sense of adventure that fills their hearts. Their hearts are fertile and open to receiving instruction in character development and Biblical truths. Paintball is an activity that cultivates fertile soil. Through its adrenalin pumping games and high level of excitement kid’s hearts are opened to allow seeds of faith to be planted as spiritual truths are related in context with the sport. Paintball is much more than a sport or a game. It can truly be utilized as a means to reach the hearts of those that play the game.
